The Hymn of a Heroic Head
Dear Mr. President,
I extend my congratulations on your electoral victory, marking your ascent as the 17th President of the Philippines. The trust bestowed upon you by the majority of the Filipino people is indeed noteworthy. It appears that in today's world, questionable wealth and counterfeit qualifications can pave the way to leadership, demonstrating an intriguing facet of our society.
I feel compelled to be candid with you, even though my initial support wasn't in your favor. Frankly, I had hoped for a different leader, but your victory didn't come as a shock. It was interesting to observe the unwavering faith that many of my friends and family placed in you, despite the controversies associated with your name. Witnessing this democratic process, even though it didn't align with my preferences, allowed me to acknowledge the diverse perspectives shaping our nation. I begrudgingly accept the choice made by the majority, recognizing the complexity of their decision.
Mr. President, my intention is not to judge you. I recognize my own flaws and imperfections, so who am I to pass judgment? I am bound to respect and submit to authorities, even when I disagree with them or when they fall short, and I will fulfill this obligation. However, I do hope you hear my pleas.
It is intriguing how some view the current inflation rates through rose-tinted glasses, hailing it as a testament to a supposed "Golden Era." The rising costs of living, juxtaposed against the idealized notion of a prosperous past, create a jarring dissonance. Perhaps, in your esteemed position, there might be a way to bridge this gap between perception and reality, ensuring that policies are rooted in the present needs of the people. After all, addressing the genuine concerns of the populace should take precedence over romanticized narratives.
As I reflect on the numerous challenges faced by our nation, it is impossible to ignore the plight of the people on the poverty line. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone on this precarious edge of society has pocketed ill-gotten wealth or indulged in corruption. Many are honest, hardworking individuals, trying to make ends meet in an unforgiving environment. It is hard to witness the gap between the rich and the poor widen, with the marginalized struggling for their basic needs. One cannot help but wonder when those in power will step up and take meaningful action to uplift the lives of these deserving citizens. While some may turn a blind eye, it is my sincere hope that someone, you, President Ferdinand "Bong Bong" Marcos Jr., will recognize the urgency of this situation and work diligently to create a more equitable society for all.
President Marcos, the nation's gaze is fixated upon you, a circumstance that demands meticulous attention to your every action and decision. Rest assured, you will be held responsible for the consequences of your choices. I sincerely hope that your governance will not manipulate history to favor your family's narrative. Instead, may you genuinely reform the injustices of the past and salvage the reputation tarnished by previous transgressions. It is my earnest wish that your agenda extends beyond the welfare of your own kin, reaching out to the families who placed their trust in you.
With each move you make, may you unwittingly instill a profound sense of Filipino pride in your constituents. Perhaps your decisions will manage to captivate the hearts of the younger generation, offering them a glimmer of hope and a reason to persist in their fight for a better future. One can only hope that your actions abroad will convince overseas Filipinos that the Philippines remains a land worth returning to.
Sincerely,
Harmony
